World Cup Tickets ripe for collecting in Group F
BEIRUT (Lebanon) - After four windows of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers, the teams in Group F have still been unable to clinch World Cup qualification. This will most likely change in these upcoming days.
It’s a tight race at the top between Iran, China, and Kazakhstan with undefeated Australia leading the pack and all of them are hoping to lock up that World Cup ticket as soon as possible.
Here's what the standings look like in Group F heading into Window 5 of the Asian Qualifiers:
GROUP F - 6/18 games played
All First Round results carry over to Second Round.
*Qualified for the World Cup.
11 November 2022:
- Iran vs China - 17:00 GMT +3.5 - Tehran, Iran
- Kazakhstan vs Australia - 20:00 GMT +6 - Astana, Kazakhstan
- Bahrain vs Japan - 19:05 GMT +3 - Manama, Bahrain
14 November 2022:
- Iran vs Australia - 17:00 GMT +3.5 - Tehran, Iran
- Kazakhstan vs Japan- 20:00 GMT +6 - Astana, Kazakhstan
- Bahrain vs China - 19:00 GMT +3 - Manama, Bahrain
The marquee matchup is also the very first game with Iran hosting China, also highlighted as one of the games to watch in this Asian Qualifiers window. The two Asian powerhouses have not played against each other in a major competition since 2015, which means the sparks could be flying right from the start.
Even though the Iran vs China clash should be the most anticipated game, the other games should be just as intense as each win gets the team closer to the World Cup … and keep the other team further away.
