Recall that the qualifying tournament for the continental championship started in February 2020. The men's national team of Kazakhstan began its fight for a ticket to the Cup with two home matches, which were held in the city of Nur-Sultan at the new modern sports arena Zhekpe-Zhek. Then the Steppenwolfs snatched a military victory from the Palestinian team - 79:76 and slightly lost to the Jordan team - 68:71. The matches of the second playing window of the Qualifiers, which were supposed to take place in November 2020, due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, were postponed to the end of February 2021 and were held in the capital of Bahrain, the city of Manama. In the second meeting against the Palestine national team, our team confidently consolidated its success - 56:93, and both games against the Sri Lanka national team ended in an unconditional victory for Emil Rajkovic's wards - 52:111 and 107:37. In the final qualifying match of the Kazakhstan national team, unfortunately, they failed to take revenge on the Jordanians on their site - 80:70.
