Dear media representatives!

Accreditation of media representatives has been opened on the specialized Media Portal of the International Basketball Federation FIBA to cover the qualifying matches for the Basketball World Cup among men's teams in 2023. Accreditation for the first game window will be available until November 23, 2021.

The first match of the Kazakhstan national team in the framework of qualification against the Syrian team will take place on November 26 in Nur-Sultan, at the arena of the Republican cycle track "Saryarka", beginning at 20:00 Moscow time. Tickets are on sale only online at Ticketon.kz.

Instructions for applying for accreditation:
  • As in previous qualifying rounds for men's national teams, each individual journalist must use their personal profile on the FIBA media portal to apply (or register a new one if this is the first time you are accredited to FIBA events). The media portal is currently available in four languages: English, Spanish, French and Chinese.
  • After filling in all the required profile fields (name, surname, name and type of media, phone number, personal photo, etc.), go to the My Events tab, select FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers (window 1) and click the Apply button.
  • Remote lighting accreditation is still available. It will help journalists outside the arena to promptly receive all materials about the match from the organizers, as well as send questions that can be asked to coaches and players before and after the game.
  • Please note that a link to one of your recent basketball posts is a prerequisite.
  • After filling in all the fields of the application, it must be sent by clicking the Apply button again. Make sure that the confirmation of the registration of the application has been sent to the email address you provided (it is not a confirmation of accreditation).
  • Applications will end on November 23 at 23:59 CET (November 24 at 04:59 Nur-Sultan time). Match day accreditation is not possible!

Additional restrictions in the work of the media related to antiviral safety:
  • Photographers and TV crews working in the immediate vicinity of the "clean zone", regardless of vaccination status, need a certificate of a negative PCR test performed no later than 48 hours before the event. Similar measures are applied to television journalists at the teams' official pre-match training sessions (the last 5 minutes of training are open for filming).
  • For all categories of accredited journalists, wearing a face mask, regular use of hand sanitizer and maintaining a social distance of 1.5 meters are required during the entire time of their stay in the arena.
  • Access to the mixed zone and the press conference will only be open to television rights holders and a limited list of contributing journalists. In the mixed zone, it is imperative to maintain social distance and use extension cords for microphones.
  • Requirements for attending sporting events may be further strengthened by decision of the authorities. Having an approved accreditation is a necessary but not sufficient condition for media representatives to enter the arena.

All questions related to accreditation are accepted by the NBF press service to the email address pr@nbf.kzor FIBA accreditation@fiba.basketball.
As a reminder, according to the results of the draw, "Steppen Wolves" got into group "D" together with the national teams of Iran, Syria and Bahrain.
