The venues of the final 3rd window of qualifying games for the Asian Cup Basketball 2021 have been confirmed
The regional office of the Basketball Federation (FIBA) in Asia has confirmed the venues of the 3rd window’s qualifying games for the Asian Cup in Basketball 2021, scheduled for February 2021.
Following the successful organization of the 2nd window of the qualifying tournament in November in the so-called "bubbles", the third and final window will also be organized in a secure environment to ensure the safety of all tournament participants.
All remaining Qualifying Games will take place February 18 to 22, 2021 in the following cities: Clark - Philippines, Tokyo - Japan, Manama - Bahrain and Doha - Qatar. Clark will host battles between teams from groups "A" and "C", Manama will also host matches from two groups at once - "D" and "F", which includes the national team of Kazakhstan, the capital of Japan will become the venue for games of the teams from group B ", whilst the teams from group" E" will have to compete in Doha.
The most important criteria when choosing the organizers of the game windows were the the safety of the participants' health, as well as adherence to FIBA protocols, including testing and controlled entry into a safe environment. The decision to play bubble matches instead of the home and away games was made by the FIBA Executive Committee in September after taking into account the importance of ensuring the health and safety of players, coaches and officials, as well as recommendations from the Medical Commission and the Competition Commission.
To recap, due to the decision of the Jordanian government to completely isolate the country until December 5 of this year due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided to postpone the games of the 2nd qualifying game window for the Asian Cup in 2021 between the teams of group "F" , which includes the National Team of Kazakhstan, to February 2021. Thus, the “Steppenwolves” will have to play a total of four matches in February.
Detailed information on the participation of the National Team of Kazakhstan in the Qualification for the Asian Cup 2021, the squad, standings, schedule and game results are published on our website in the ‘National Teams’ section.
