Matches of the 2nd game window Qualifiers for the Asian Cup basketball 2021 postponed to February
In connection with the decision of the Jordanian government to completely isolate the country until December 5 due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has postponed the games of the 2nd qualifying game window to the 2021 Asian Cup basketball between the teams of group "F", in which includes the National Team of Kazakhstan, for February 2021.
As a reminder, earlier FIBA approved the host cities of the 2nd game window of the qualifying tournament for the Asian Championship scheduled for November 2020. The capital of Jordan, the city of Amman, was designated as the venue for the games between the national teams of Group F, which includes Jordan, Kazakhstan, Palestine and Sri Lanka. The Steppenwolves were supposed to play their matches - on November 27 against the Sri Lanka national team, and on November 29 to hold a return meeting with the Palestinian team.
FIBA will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation on a daily basis and communicate further updates in regard to FIBA Competitions when necessary.
Recall that on February 21 and 24, the men's national basketball team of Kazakhstan held the first two qualifying matches for the Asian Cup 2021, which were held in Nur-Sultan. In the first game, "Steppenwolves" snatched victory from their rivals from Palestine - 79:76, and the meeting against the Jordanian national team ended in an unfortunate defeat - 68:71.
