The opening of the Jr. NBA World Championship Europe Camp 2018

The NBA tipped off the first-ever Jr. NBA World Championship Europe Camp this morning at the Rogla Olympic Sports Resort in Slovenia. Forty-seven of the top 13- and 14-year-old boys and girls from Jr. NBA leagues in 17 countries across Europe took the court and had the opportunity to learn from NBA Basketball Operations staff, as well as several Jr. NBA coaches from those countries, many of whom boast professional or national team coaching experience.

The campers began the day with a warm-up and body awareness exercises led by a dedicated athletic development trainer, followed by movement education and skill development focused on pivoting, passing and receiving fundamentals. The on-court portion of the day continued with a strong focus on passing skills, positioning and full-court transition drills and concluded with five on five games, allowing coaches to get the first look at how these young players perform during game play.

The campers concluded their day with an evening activity led by FUN4U, a Slovenian-based company specializing in events, who are providing participants with entertainment and teambuilding off-court for the duration of the camp.
